Test Wall 2 – Lightweight Security Upgrade (Steel Sheet & Mesh System)

This upgraded wall adds basic reinforcement to improve security over standard construction.

This wall combines a timber and brick structure with a 1.5mm steel sheet applied to the upper section, and a lightweight steel mesh reinforcement to the lower section — designed to increase strength without excessive weight.

Result:

The wall could not be breached with hand tools. A sledgehammer and crowbar were ineffective. Mechanical tools such as grinders, reciprocating saws, or drills were required to make progress.

What this shows:

Even relatively thin steel sheeting dramatically improves resistance.

The lightweight mesh performed well for lower-load areas, while the 1.5mm steel sheet provided excellent protection where higher impact is expected.

This system offers a strong balance between security, weight, and practicality.
